Burned out, miserable, exhausted. Those are the words I wrote in my journal entry on the night of March 28, 2017. I knew long before writing those words that my job in corporate marketing had become unmanageable and toxic, but the act of writing them down is what sparked me to take action. I knew I had to change my life. So, the next thing I did was write down three things I wanted for my life — travel, write more, live fully. I decided then and there to invest in myself. I quit my job the following day. I used my meager savings to stay afloat as I built a career as a freelance writer and content marketer and traveled the world I was so desperate to see. And I’ve never looked back.
